Hi Deejc
My testing was done with a cheap & cheerful neoprene iphone case from Amazon. There's a huge variety to choose from, and I would expect the ithlete dongle to be usable with most of them.
It was designed to accommodate the thickness of a Belkin silicone sleeve (~2mm) + a bit of tolerance.
Hard cases are more of an issue - I would recommend trying these in a shop before purchasing. I know it will not fit the Otterbox without an extender, such as the Exspect Audio EX864. This handy accessory is available very cheaply in the UK (£1.86) but apparently not in the US and other countries, so if anyone wants one from overseas, please send us an email at ithlete.support@myithlete.com, and we will send you one at cost.
Anyone else have recommendations on cases?

I am having some issues getting ithlete working on an iPhone 4 with an Otterbox Defender Case.
I purchased the EX864 iPhone Headphone Adapter, and the iFrogz Fitz Headphone Adapter however neither seem to work.

Is it possible to purchase a tested working adapter directly from ithlete?

Nick kindly did some resistance checks on these adaptors and found that not all their connections have been wired through as they should be (and used to be when I first checked the EX864).
We are therefore suspending our recommendation for this product, and await tests on some new samples I have ordered, which we will make available through this site if they test out OK.

I decided to try a few headphone jack adapter/extenders that are made to transfer data such as for credit card scanners....I figured they might work with the ithlete transmitter. The two I found on Amazon.com were the “Digital Lifestyle Outfitters Headphone Splitter for iPod and iPhone” for $12.99 and the SendStation PocketDock Line Out Mini USB Adapter for iPhone for $27. I tried the Digital Lifestyle Outfitters adapter first since it was the cheapest. The splitter has two jacks- black and blue - I found that it works perfectly when plugged into the blue jack. Since the Digital Lifestyle Outfitters adapter worked great, I didn't bother to purchase the SendStation adapter since it costs more than twice as much. It also looks promising!
