I've been using ithlete for over 3 months but haven't made as much use of the HRM app.
Here's my HRM wishlist:
- After you save a session, if no data is selected in the graph then the previous session data should be shown.
- The chart should scale based on the intensity of the workout. The easiest fix would be to scale based on the maxHR so the data is always visible.
- The app should save the raw HR data, whether beat-to-beat or estimated bpm over time, for at least a limited amount of time, since this is what I was expecting when I exported the data.
My ithlete wishlist:
- I want to know a bit more than just the score--how parasympathetic or sympathetic? RR-interval? There's some discussion on the StrengthCoach.com forum about this as well.

Hi Lesllie
Thanks for the feedback - much appreciated.
Taking your points in order, first on the HRM app:
1. Yes, that should be possible to show the previous session until you record a new one
2. The data should always be visible provided you have entered appropriate values into the settings screen. The top of the chart is 3-4 beats above the max HR you have entered (or calculated from age), and the bottom is 40 beats below your estimated aerobic threshold (VT1). You can change the top of the chart by temporarily changing your max HR on the settings screen, and the min by changing the fitness level letter (in your case it's probably on 'd' currently).
3. The app saves the complete set of HR values permanently - they can be exported as a .hrm file whenever you like.
For advanced users and coaches I may introduce an 'ithlete Pro' version that saves all the RR data, and gives more info about the trends. The main HRV score number is a parasympathetic indicator, and the HR is a combination of sympathetic & parasympathetic. So for instance if your HRV is below normal, and your HR is above normal, then it's clear you have become more sympathetic dominant. Conversely if your HRV is up and HR is down, then you have become more parasympathetic dominant. As a trend, this usually indicates improving aerobic fitness, but if it goes too far too quickly then it is a sign of exhaustion. ithlete tries to detect this bad state & gives a red daily change immediately.
Could you summarise the discussion on StrengthCoach.com for those of us that don't subscribe?

I would like to add ANT+ compatible transmitter to the wish list. Is that in the works?

In the mornings, particularly on my early shift, I press the wrong 'button' accidentally once the measure has been taken. Making them slightly larger & an audable click might be helpful. Also a bleep once the measure is complete so you don't have to look at the unit. Otherwise works great!

Garf
Good input - thanks.
Definitely some ease of use features coming in the next release.
